Default Can't remove bulb

07 RX 350. I need to replace tail light bulb (the one on the lift gate). Here are my results so far:

Opening lift gate and removing trim - 20 seconds.
Unplugging wires from the bulb - 2 seconds.
Trying to remove the bulb from its slot - 15 minutes and NOTHING.

I was trying to remove the bulb gently using my fingers - nothing. Using a knife - nothing. I got pi**ed off after 15 minutes, and have no idea what I did wrong. Are there some "secret" bolts, or something?

The bulb is a twist type. Try counterclockwise first, if it does not work, try the other way. I had the same difficulty. But it will twist off.

Tried counterclockwise (just forgot to write that), will try another way. Thanks for the suggestion.

I had trouble getting them off as well. And the position is awkward, too. But patience will help.

Default bulbs

are you trying to just pull the blub out or do you need to get the pigtail socket out of the housing, if you are just trying to pull bulb out they just pull out you do not have to twist like a 1157 that has two little **** on it, if you are trying to get socket out you have to twist them pretty hard to get them to move I cant remember what way to twist so try 1 way then the other they are in very tight

if it's a twist type you may have to push the bulb in while turning.

I had trouble removing the socket. Anyhow, it was removed with a twist. Thanks, guys!

I was going to suggest a needle nose pliers.

You may need it while doing the front daytime running lights at some point or if you ever switch to leds.
