Everyone: Why did you buy a Lexus?

A friend had an RX300 for years and I knew it to be an almost unbelievably good car so when the time came to change cars I bought a spiffy RX300 with 52k and haven't looked back.

Buying a car in the 10-12 year age range, there was nothing, and I mean nothing made by GM, Ford or the other one that I would spend money on.
Admittedly, I was looking at an Infiniti QX4 first, but saw the RX300 and decided that was the one.

I wanted a dependable, AWD vehicle with a bit of luxury. Once I found out that the RX had galvanized body panels (having dealt with rust up here in the North East), I knew it was for me. The more I researched it, the more I wanted one. Now I have had one for a few months and I know it was the right choice. My wife just got a leftover 2012 Nissan Rouge, and although it feels like a little brother to my RX (without some of the nice touches of the RX), it is always nice to get back behind the wheel of my (9 year old) RX. I am sure the Rouge will lose it's luster after 9 years (especially with that cheesy CVT).

For me, it's my 6th one. Even though here in Australia we get the "Toyota Soarer" which you guys have a Lexus SC over there, I still count them (I had 4) and a Lexus ES300. Reliability, brand, style, absolute love of the brand it's vehicles and not as pretentious & expensive as their counterparts (all things considered).

I had an 11 year old Honda, tranny was changed twice, lower control arm four times and the wheel bearing needed to be replaced.
I was first thinking about the Infiniti M35 but after a bad snow storm and also getting older and family growing, wanted to get something more reliable, responsible but still sexy. After reading the reviews online and then test driving it just felt right. No regrets so far. This forum was like a bonus.

I wanted a replacement for my 98 ford exploder that had timing chain, transmission, door lock and handle problems all fixed under warranty never mind the potential rollover problems of that model, and better gas mileage. I got on the waiting list in summer of 2004 for my RX 400h and took delivery July 2005. Without a doubt the best car i have ever owned, still happy 8 years later.

I bought mine due to the fact I used to be a Lexus Mechanic at a local Lexus dealership. I have always liked Lexus, all car makes have their ups and downs...it is mechanical, things break.
But after working on them for a few years and driving them everyday. I knew that I would personally own one. I have owned cadillacs...and lincolns...but those just didn't do it for me.

I have not yet bought myself a lexus yet, but i definitely have my eyes on the is300. It just started off that i liked how it looked and the fact that it was a v6, but the more i researched it the more i have been falling in love with it. I thought i love my '06 GTI... that was just false love compared to the need i feel for a nice IS
