RX330, AWD/FWD & suspension component confusion...
Basically, the RX makes clicking noises when turning. Not sure if this is the power steering or not.
My old man tells me its a little rougher, fair enough, the thing has 140k KM's on it, so with the **** roads around here and daily hauling duties its about time for sway bushings & endlinks [on top of balljoints to solve the grinding/clicking noise when drysteering - I'm almost certain its balljoints since my ES did this and i just changed them out].
So now that you've read my great story, i want to know, what the hell the differences between the AWD/FWD cars is?! suspension wise
Any and all parts places either; state FWD only, or don't give mention to any difference.
I am correct to assume that the balljoints [and suspension for that matter] is the same all around on these things? I have nothing other dictating otherwise.
I use rockauto, no one else for parts, dealer is a rarity for me, since i only get the transmission stuff from them. Otherwise i stick to rockauto for high quality parts.
So... to wrap it up, UNLESS SOMEONE CAN CONFIRM OTHERWISE, these must be the same, FWD & AWD suspension wise including the control arms as such - obvious difference would be the rear hub assemblies I think.
I don't want to order generic balljoints, if the MOOG assy's that claim FWD will work - since they are serviceable and more durable than OEM. The Sewell Lexus catalogue doesn't state any differences in these parts. I don't want to order sway bushings, only to find out they are thicker than the FWD version.

01, I agree with 114 that you may have a CV Joint issue. If the boot on it is cracked or you can see grease leaking out, replace it asap.
As for the components, there are differences between the AWD and FWD. The ball joints are similar but different. The rear set up is way different. If you are trying to retrofit FWD parts with the AWD, I would not recommend it. The stress levels on those components are different in the AWD and FWD models. Thus the changes in the parts. I hope I understood your question correctly.
Also, check out this place for parts....its a dealer in Dallas but very well priced on most things.

01, call the number on the site. They carry EVERY SINGLE PART from Lexus models. This is a dealership who expanded its parts department to an online set up as well. I assure you they sell AWD, as I have purchased AWD parts from them before.
