The drain and refill capacity is 3.7 Quarts (flushing is not recommended). Use Toyota WS Fluid only. Lexus recommends that the fluid be inspected at 100K miles and replaced only if the fluid has a burnt smell or discoloration.

How many miles do you have on this 2008 RX350?

Do a drain or total fluid replacement, which is different that a flush.

This is the correct way to do it, I don't flush any transmission it will loosen up small particles that are best left where they where.

A drain a fill is as easy or easier the doing and oil change, just be sure to put the same amount of fluid back in.You are only replacing/swapping a small amount of the total volume it holds (the T/C will hold a good bit for instance) but its the best way to change fluid.

I got 52K on my 2008 RX350 thank you. I don't know about 100k but I have 2001 RX300 drains and fills every 15-20k on the schedule and it got 170k on it now and still kicking smooth original trans, sweet!!!
Consider doing a drains and fills often it much cheaper than replacing the trans.

Your 2001 RX300 uses Type IV Transmission Fluid and changing the fluid every 30K is recommended. The RX350 is different. Lexus actually has a Technical Service Information Bulletin (TC008-07) that flat out states "100,000 Maintenance Interval - Inspection only; ATF-WS does not require any flushing or changing during the life of the vehicle".

The TSIB mentioned that the ATF-WS should be inspected at 100 K miles ?
I don't know what I should be looking for regarding color, smell, viscosity.
Wouldn't it be simpler to just drain and refill at 100K miles and be done with it for another 100K miles ?

drain & fill, that's all Lexus dealers do anyways.

I just did it on my dad's RX330. Manual calls for four bottles, but like my previous experience with my ES - the manual is BS, it took 5.5 bottles after it settled one evening later of driving.
