i WILL Throw a curve in this...If you replace two tires, the tire dealers only want them on the rear...apparently tests have shown that under water conditions this is the safest area for tires of different wear...Good luck.

I will receive the new tire Thursday, and I have ordered the key for the wheel locks (I lost mine after using it to change blown tire to the spare!). Once I get both, I'll try to have them mounted as I wish and see what happens - I'll let you know.

Well, well, well.... New tires measured at 11/32, old ones (whether front or back (and I had swapped front & rear at 10K miles) at 7/32. No problems at installation - new tires go in front and old in the back. But I am astonished that the wear on all older tires is so even. Maybe there is not much difference in wear between front and rear on the AWD. [This an 09RX350, with 16K miles]. Reading between the lines (pun intended), I would assume that these Michelin Energy MXV4 S8, OEM 18", should last me 30-35K miles in all.... and that's OK with me.

Default Michelin MXV 4's

Recently turned 47k on my original MXV4's & they look like I'll get at least another 10k out of them. Rotated every 5k. Will definitely go with the same tires, when it's time.

They've done you well! I doubt mine will last as long.
