And to think you almost bought a Chrysler minivan. With that many miles, the car didn't owe you anything. That being said 4Runners are great, as reliable is not more than the RX. Unfortunately, they are just as expensive, so if a 4tunner is an option so is an RX.

Yep, 4Runners are awesome. My hunting rig is a 98 with 212k on the clock. Absolutely no issues. Tough as nails. There are rust issues on the frame in winter salt states but that's about it.

You are right, the book value is extremely high on them though...tough to find a bargain.

I have a 2000 with 56k miles, but yeah the frame has more surface rust than I'd like. I've under coated it the past 3 years so I'm trying to keep it at bay

VAttorney, I have to ask, has your car been serviced by Lindsay? My service advisor there mentioned he had a customer with over 400k miles on their RX. Congrats on getting such an awesome lifespan from the car!

I bought my 2004 RX330 with 180,000 miles and have been driving it for a year, guess what? I've done an oil change, and brake pads ,, thats it .. I paid $7,000 for it , This SUV cost over $40,000 when new .. I love the ice cold air and smooth ride, very comfortable seats front & back, power to get out of the way on the freeway ... for a 12 year old car with high miles, I am pretty happy / I took my vin to the dealer in hopes of checking for service records but there were only a few things that showed up on their computer, so I'm guessing the car was maintained by outside mechanics ,,, It still runs as smooth as silk / I will change the timing belt soon, I'd like to get up to 300,000 miles, because the car still looks and rides beautifully. Since there are hardly any dealer records, the timing belt worries me a little, I will change it soon just for reassurance ..

This thread gives me hope. I just purchased a black 2004 Rx330 with 53k miles for 7k as a daily driver. Love the ride but not body roll. That's why I have a 370z for the weekend.
