Changing maintenance parts
How hard is it to replace maintenance parts in the second gen Lexus RX350? On the lexus GS, you will have take apart the manifold to change the starter. That's alot of work if you ask me.
I'm interest in the RX (2005-2009) and I want to if i can change these items myself or i have to take it to the mechanic. Thank for the info.
Starter, water pump, thermostat, timing belt, spark plug, oxygen sensor

From what I have heard on some of the serious DIY's around here, it is not bad.

Toyota can aptly service our cars. Our engine is the same as the Highlander V6. And the engine bay is almost identical.

I have serviced my RX strictly at Toyota dealer when I need it, and they give the same part/service warranty that of Lexus dealer at half of the cost. BTW you can order your own OEM toyota/lexus part(s) elsewhere and have them installed for you

It is common to have 2 unique part numbers, 1 for Toyota and 1 for Lexus, for the same identical part.
So whenever applicable, use the Toyota part number and save some $.
For example, the oil filter for the V6 Highlander and the RX330. The Cabin Filter as well as the engine air filter are the same (I think).

Thermostat is possible as is the starter, spark plugs and oxygen sensors. Spark Plugs are not necessarily hard, but can be a pain to reach rear plugs (more a lot of patience).
