That was because the 50/50 has already come premixed for you. Half antifreeze and half distilled water. That you can dump right in to your overflow tank to top off at any time.

Sounds like you were doing OK, however, you did not know the why or how of the process.

How many miles are on your 2007? If low, say under 60K, this makes sense to flush and fill. However, if you have high mileage, say over 80K, you might want to hold off as you will soon be needing to have your timing belt replaced and you might as well do all that at the same time.

Also, keep in mind salimshah's comment to use only distilled water. Anything else may contain mineral deposits which could lead to problems later.
Just an F.Y.I.. No timing belt change required on 2007 RX350 as it has a timing chain which does not need replacing.

Old thread.

Yes, I know already. Admitted as much on a different thread a year ago.

is toyota coolant different then another long life coolant like Dex-cool ?

i have 4 gallons of Prestone Dex-cool sitting in my garage and want to know if the TOyota Coolant for my 07 ES350 which i belive has teh same motor and cooling system as the RX here mentioned
so is Dex cool good to use or is it a special Toyota coolant it calls for ?

This is what it says in the 2007 RX350 Owner's Manual. Nothing specific about DEX-COOL or anything else:

Just check your containers to see if it meets those specs as I am not sure exactly which product you have and its date of production. Things can change over time. The Prestone site says:

Prestone® Antifreeze/Coolant is completely safe for use in both foreign and domestic vehicles. For those consumers who would feel more comfortable using a phosphate-free antifreeze, our Prestone® Extended Life 50/50 Antifreeze/Coolant is phosphate, silicate, and borate free. This coolant uses a special chemistry and technology that extends the life of the corrosion inhibitor package so that it lasts for five years or 150,000 miles (whichever comes first), and is safe for all cars and light trucks (old or new).
