Nav 9.1 Upgrade $240.00 Installed.
Took my 2008 RX 350 in for an oil chage today and asked the service advisor for a price on the Nav 9.1 upgrade as mine is 7.1.
Quoted $240.00 installed and would take about an hour.
Thanks, but no thanks.

An hour to swap out one disc?
Ask them how much to change all 6 CDs.
As noted above, putting in the new NAV disc is simple and takes 5 minutes at most, if you go real slow. My two cars use the same data disc, and I will often swap the older one for the newer one for a road trip. I can't imagine asking the dealer to do that every time.

on the other hand the $240 for the dvd is +/- a few bucks what a new one usually costs. So it's not like that hour quote is costing you much if anything. But agree, it's so easy to do you can save the time. If you look around at places like Sewell you can sometimes get an online offer for a little less if you have a recent version older disk to trade in etc. You can certainly buy older version dvds 2nd hand for a lot less.

you are correct. I bought at Sewell online. My incorrect recollection was I paid 250 and there was a $50 rebate offer in you had a recent old disk making the price 200. It's 200 with a rebate off that if you have a v 8 dvd to trade in. Regardless, everybody agrees if you buy the dvd at the dealer parts desk, don't pay to have it installed.
