I have the 2009 RX 350.

In the engine bay, I saw a white plastic tank below the battery.
The tank didn't seem to have any liquid in it.
I looked to see if any hoses were connected to the tank but the view was
blocked by other things.

Does anyone know what this tank is for ?

My 2005 has the same thing,and I was wondering what it was too!

jsut checked mine, i have it too (2004) appears to be an intake resonator. ie keeps it quiet

if you reach down and move it side to side, you will notice that intake ducts move with it.

i am sure its there for several reasons, maybe it stops water getting ingested if you drive through a really deep puddle too
