What is AFS?

No, I don't play soccer!
Have you checked if you turned AFS off by accident? The button is close to the gas door release, at least it was in my '04. Hope the fix is simple.

After the K & N, I have definitely noticed when accelerating, it seems smoother and seems to respond throughout the acceleration of 0 - 60 mph

I started driving more conservatively and I'm getting 22.2 mpg and this is carrying 4 tires in the car(have now been mounted - will post soon). I've been driving my workweek schedule so the routes are consistent. I'll update this post with my new tires(which aren't much louder and have improved ride!)

Hi Guys,
1st timer, same as what I'm reading. 2008 rx350 Air Filter issues
I see people mention they take the bolts out. I'm sorry, I am confused. My bolts have flanges over the head and can't come out the top.
It seems when I turn the bolts, nothing moves. Are they broken? Are there nuts that physically come out the bottom ? or are they melded into the bottom portion?
If the bolts are broken, does it mean I can just pry open the case?
PLeasssssseeeee, can someone help me with the bolt issue.
Befuddled.

air filter replacement rx330
There are two 10mm bolts holding the cover. After loosening these bolts, the air box cover can be pulled a little right and lifted up. This will dislodged the rear tabs from the box body and this will permit removal of the old filter. The first time I replaced the FRAM air filter, it did not take long to install new one and tighten the bolts. However, the second time I did, it took hours because I could not put the rear tab (near firewall) all the way in. Made many attempts and could not figure the reason why the back tab would no go all the way in the air box body. It may be that the earlier FRAM air filter was made in China (the one I replaced) and the one I was installing was made in US. Finally after lot of pushing and pressing, I was able to put the cover but could not tighten the back (firewall side) bolt; it would just turn and remained lose. I just left it like that as the front bolt (battery side) was tightened properly. Maybe next time I will buy Lexus/Toyota brand air filter.
