The RX350 IS a chick car
I replaced my '07 RX with a new one, and put the '07 on the market to sell it myself. Six interested parties contacted me. All were women. Not a big sample statistically, but indicitive of a trend, I think. Funny, I hadn't felt like my manhood was threatened during the three years I drove it.

It's funny you say that. The other day I saw a 1RX and I saw two hot chicks in it. The RX can go both ways but the tendency seems to attract more chicks than men. I'm sure the RX is a great family car as well...

well just out of the functionality of the car, its a soccer mom car perfect for hauling the family around town. Its not 'rugged' in any sense or sporty in any sense, qualities that are usually associated with manliness.
good thing i drive a darker one

Lexus purposely tried to make the 2nd gen RX appeal to more men as the first gen had a 55% to 45% woman/male take. The 2nd gen ended up 60/40 in favor of women.
I honestly respect men MORE in a RX b/c well, people love ******* how its a chicks car. It shows their confident in themselves and bought it b/c it was the best vehicle for them and didn't need some ridiculous sporty SUV to make themselves feel like more of a "man"

I live in an affluent suburb and for sure the 2004-2009 RX (and now the 2010 it seems) is the number one soccer mom mobile.

In my area its different--
soccor moms here own bigger suvs or regular mini vans.
after kids are out, the rx is the preferred vehicle--
the husbands get a more traditional 4 door sedan and/or the mid life crisis sports car--
the hi performance suv is the fx
but by far there is an overabundance of rx's. Just like the commercial.

yes the rx has become a female car. i am a male, and my 07 is black on black. my other vehicle is a nissan titan crew cab. why be self-conscience about how you look in your car? i dont need to hop in my truck and drive it around to prove to the world im a man. but i do hop in my truck when i go to home depot to pick up goodies for my next home project to load in the bed. vehicles serve a purpose, so if that means using an RX for soccer mom duties so be it. I use my RX for long drives because its one comfy ride.

Goes both ways....enough said. I like it...but yeah, the wife drives it. But can not wait on weekends to use it.

Good point. Color does make a difference. I agree that overall they are a chick car, but I don't feel emasculated when I drive it without the wife in it. I drive a BMW 330Ci coupe, manual transmission during the week and almost always drive the RX on weekends. As someone stated before, you can haul quite a bit in it with the passenger folded back. I just hauled two 12' + birch trees yesterday on the front seat, protected of course, and hanging out the back. You can still use this as a manly vehicle when towing or hauling.
