tirerack is always your best bet, but lugging them to the installer is a bit of a pain. Sometimes, just to make it easy on yourself, just go to costco and get the stock michelins.
for my 18"
tirerack:
stock Michelins $183 each
Goodyears RSA (stock but horrible tire life) $145 each
I hear good things about the bridgestone Dueler $168
Costco:
Michelins: $142. $165, $191 depending on which tire

The best thing to do is to rotate that tire during the normal cycle of rotations to use it or leave it as a spare for the duration. I'd not feel safe driving at speed on a tire that is over 6 years old. If this is the case, I'd buy 4 new tires and leave the spare for emergency use.

If you have not used that tire for a few years (6) 2004-2010, the tire still ages and sometimes not well. depending on the environment.

I just had the Alenzas installed on my 2008 RX350. We've received about 8 inches of snow over the last 2 weeks and they have handled it great. I also just went on a 400 miles trip with them and the ride is excellent. I would certainly buy them again. I got them installed at Discount Tire for just a little over $800.

I put a set of Alenza's on a 2008 RX350 about 10,000 miles ago and couldn't be happier. I've rotated them twice and they show hardly any tread wear. They are quiet, ride and handle well at 32-33 PSI.
The OEM's were POS Goodyears that barely made 30,000 miles with noise and a horrible ride. I'll never take delivery of ANY vehicle that has Goodyears on it.

Personally i don't like the square shoulder. I think it makes handling feel strange when turning. My wife loves her RX350. I would rather have a Cayenne. The RX is way to mushy for me.

As for the comparison between an RX and the Cayenne, well... they are not in the same class. The RX is a "soft utility vehicle" with little sport about it, IMO. Besides, the Cayenne is how much more expensive when you compare same-with-same let alone how much extra are those service calls going to run you?
