Dash lights coming on
I have an 04 RX and the dash lights have started coming on intermittently. Has happened about 5 times now where the ABS, TPMS, etc will all come on shortly after starting or won't go off. If I turn the RX off & restart it, the problem is resolved. In the manual there seem to be several fuses relating to the dash lights. Anyone else have the problem, or can offer some suggestions? I've only got about 30k on it but the warranty has expired, so I would hate to take it in if it's something I can fix myself. Thanks all!

Similar problem on our 2004 RX330
We have a 2004 RX330, which very recently also seems to be experiencing a similar problem - while driving (it has happened twice now) several dash lights come on: ABS, Brake, VSC, and "SS" (I think that's the traction/slip light - will check)... the car drives fine, and if you "reboot" it by shutting it off and then restart, all the lights go back out. I will put an ODB-II scanner on to check for engine codes this weekend and compare findings to my Lexus shop manuals. Will let you know what I find... hopefully something inexpensive, as our car is also now out of warranty too, even though the mileage is pretty low (<50K), we are the original/first owners...

Not sure if this is gonna be helpful, but similar thing happened on my other vehicle (VW Passat) several years back. All the dash lights suddenly went on and/or went out but the car drove fine. In the end it got towed back to dealer because the car wouldn't start. Turned out the Instrument Cluster Module went bad. What the module does is to control all the dash lights and communicate to ECU and Immobilizer. It was covered by factory warranty but I think the repair bill was about $500.

I am not sure how this could be since the voltage that the car sees while driving is 14+ volts, the output voltage of the alternator. A fully charged battery will only show 12+ volts with the engine shut down. Therefore, the instrument cluster should think that the battery is fully charged.

[QUOTE=CK6Speed;3336021]Still could be a bad battery connection terminal. QUOTE]
That could be! To avoid this type of battery issue, I disconnect my battery cables annually and clean them and the battery top with baking soda (usual precautions of course) and then reconnect. I also spray on a protective product that helps reduce battery terminal corrosion.
