Default First 1000 mile impression

Just about to hit the 1k mile mark on the new 08 RX 350. I have read most all the complaints about these new 350s and can tell you that I have not had any of these issues happen to my new RX,(knocks on wood 4 times). I tried to make the trans hesitation and it is not there. To date no rattles I know its only 1k miles. The engine is as quiet as can be, even at start up. The light are adjusted to give plenty of distance at night on dark roads. I'm getting used to the voice commands for Nav while driving and it works very good. I haven't set up the Blue tooth yet as the only blue tooth phone I have is my work phone and I don't take it with me when I'm not working. The fit and finish is very nice the noise level is way down from my old 2k RX300. The heated seats are fast to heat up and I like the adjustment feature however I wish there was a separate on off switch from the adjustment switch. The stereo is very nice for stock, not sure what people are complaining about it for and then asking for Ipod connection (MP3 is one of the worst formats of music there is) and any one that listens to them is not an audiophile who would notice the difference between the stock and Mark Levinson version. Not trying to flame just stating the facts about MP3s. The doors have a nice solid feel like the Eldorado I used to have although not as heavy. My RX was made in Japan in October of 07 so may be Lexus is listening and making changes on the fly.
I love the Breakwater Blue with the 7 spoke Liquid Graphite wheels &Michelin tires.

Nice to hear your RX is going well. Hopefully it'll bring you years of joy and great reliability. I'm still partying like it's 1999 in my RX300... ha ha. Waiting to see how the '10 RX looks to see if I'll make the swap.

Most of the complaints were from owners, such as myself, with earlier model years. By the time yours was built Lexus had worked out or corrected most of the problems.

Other than a recalcitrant sun roof (has had a memory problem on the tilt – and we’re still trying to figure that one out), our 05 has been flawless. Glad you like your new Lexus, we feel that they are great vehicles.

Mine is 07 RX350 with 12K on it. I have not experience any issue so far and I don't expect to get any. I am very satisfied with the one I have.

The dealer just checks things out for free where I bought mine, fluids and checks for loose parts they said. No appointment needed so I'm guessing they are just doing a quick look and thats all.

They are making sure nothing's falling off...loose nuts and bolts.....just kidding. Truly they check on specific items, it is the break in period you know.

lexus did do a lot of improvements for the rx350 compared to the 330. just hope everything stays good. you think mp3's are a bad music format and you might be right on that one, but who else besides toyota is still installing tape decks in their cars? i hate the fact that they dont have aux inputs, even rental cars have it.

I think the market research has told Lexus that alot of older people that still have a collection of tapes purchase these cars. There is also a group of people that like the books on tape to listen to in there travels. I know what you mean I never used mine on the old RX or will I on the new one. They should have AUX inputs as well as mem card slots for those that use them also.

Talking about tape decks....I noticed that on the loaner RX350...no more tape deck....some OLDER people still needed the tape players.....good reason to use the adapter so you can use your IPOD....see?
