Default looking to buy 2005 rx330 with nav/low miles

Anybody out there have some tips on getting a good deal on a resale? I'm a proud owner of a 2004 sc430 green/saddle and I think I've been permanently converted to the Lexus line. I'm finally moving out of NY City end of January and my wife needs a car ASAP after that. I know the new 2008 model will be introduced in February.....maybe I should wait until end of Feb to try and drive a hard bargain. Any tips on getting a good deal on the RX? Ideally I'm looking for a resale with very low miles (<20K) with navigation 200-5. How much should I expect to pay? I got a great deal on my sc430 last year (paid $45,500 for an 04 with 16K miles when the new ones were going for 60K-60K). It's kind of a matter of pride that I need to work a good deal on the wife's car also, especially since if I was going to pay close to 40K I might as well get a new one from California and have it shipped out here. Please give me some advice.

Since you are looking for low miles, it really doesn't matter if it is certified or not. I ended up buying an 05 RX330 from my local Mercedes dealer. This route proved cheaper than buying from Lexus. It does not have nav but is AWD though. I paid $32k for it. It had 15k miles. From what I hear, Nav or no nav doesn't really affect the price for pre-owned vehicles that much.

Perform a search on this forum for AutoTrader and Edmunds. You'll pull up tips from past owner experiences including my own.

AutoTrader is a good way to get in contact with dealer Internet departments that will quote you through email. The more specific your requirements, the more time it will take to find the right vehicle, but if you have patience and time, you'll find the one that is right for you.

Personally, I would pay the extra $$ and get a Certified Pre-Owned so you have the comfort of 3 years / 100k mile coverage. Of course, if you're simply bargain hunting, then you have Seadee's suggestion of finding a Lexus in another manufacturer's lot to get a great deal.

Yeah, I Carfaxed my car before buying it. It was put in service towards the end of MY2005. When I bought it, it had 2.5 years and 35k miles left on the original waranty which is pretty much the same as the certified. I don't drive that much cause I take the light rail into work so it worked out for me.
