Default Need help with cup holder

Has anyone ever experience with the console cup holder stuck shut on the RX330? I had it fix last month but again it happens. Need advice.
Thanks,

Yes, had to have mine replaced a short time ago. Was funny in that I always kept it open and when they had my car for service and detailing they closed it. Would not open afterwards. After the fix, now my center console will not close.

Am guessing the only thing you can do is ask for it to be fixed/replaced again. Could be a number of reasons why it happened again.

Default cup holder

Yes, I have the same problem, once it is closed, it is very difficult to open. I will be taking my rx 05 this Friday for my 10k oil change and will bring this issue up. What result did you obtain from the dealer?

The dealer just replaced the clips but after 1 month it acted up again. I'm out of the warranty so I'll try to fix it myself. Please let me know what the dealer says. Thanks,

Default Update on the cup holder problem

Just a quick update on this topic. Since I'm out of warranty I called up the HQ to see if they can assist me with this problem. They asked me to bring the car to the dealer to have it take a look & will go from there. The service writer just called to tell me I need a new holder which will cost $600 (very expensive cup holder, indeed). I'm just waiting on a call from HQ whether they will take care of this or not. Thanks for the input. I really learn alot from this site.

The HQ just to tell me that she's working on "Out Of Warranty Assistant" and should know the outcome on the 29th. Talking about customer service. Even if nothing comes out of this, I really do appreciate them trying to satisfy the customers.
Thanks,

PEK - I am sure there is still a 90 day or 1 year warranty on replacement parts. Check with your dealer about this.

$600? Seems like an extended warranty for the whole car??

Thanks Lok. The problem was I didn't have the Lexus dealer fix it from the beginning. I bought mine from Carmax. $600 cup holder? I can drink my coffee at home, not in the car, before coming to work.

Wait a minute. I thought your dealer has fixed the clip last month and they won't follow up or fixe it unless they see $600? I am sure warranty would still apply.
