trailer wiring harness RX330
Just picked up a 2005 RX330 with the towing package. Ordered the hitch online. I bought the wiring harness from the dealer. Can anyone walk me through how to hook up the harness to the vehicle? Thank you in advance. Joe

I have also just taken delivery of an 05 330 with towing package. Being a DIY, I am inclined to purchase the hitch on line since installation appears easy but I am unclear about the wiring. The OM says the wiring harness is included but I have not been able to locate it under the vehicle. I have a quote of around $250 for a reputable 3rd party to install, which is about $100 more than I can DIY.

Here's an e-mail I received from a member of another Lexus forum. Please let me know how it goes:
I will try to remember how I got at the wiring harness connection point. As I indicated in my post, I took apart the whole back end of my RX 330 before I found the connection point.
To start out, the connection point is under the far left (drivers side) storage tray when you push the left button to open the covers to the storage bins. It is up towards the back of the left rear tire.
You will have to remove the left rear cover to the storage bins. You then remove the plastic covers over the screws that hold the storage trays in place and then the necessary screws. You will have to lift the front storage bin cover to get to one of the screws. I can't remember if you have to remove the plastic trim piece that is around the buttons for the bin covers or not. I did, but I took alot more apart than I needed to trying to find the connection point.
When you get the far left store bin out you should see the wiring harness connection. If I remember correctly, it was white.
There is a rubber fitting near the connection point in the floor of the vehicle that you run the wiring harness through.

The lexus wiring 'harness' is P/N 08942-48870-BB
It connects to a plug behind the L/R quarter panel, you'll have to dismantle the interior a bit to get there. There is a gromet to keep it weather-tight.
You could probly get a copy of the hitch installation instructions from the dealer which has a write-up on what needs to be removed from the L/R quarter panel to hookup the wiring harness.
This harness has a 4-Flat connector.

Thanks mrfuni. I made 2 attempts yesterday to get to the harness hookup and did not make it. I was just a little uneasy forcing the last tray out so I believe I'll have it done. The hitch install looks to be a breeze but the wiring still concerns me. I'll fork over the extra $100 just to be safe. I am interested though in seeing what your Curt hitch looks like. I believe the hitch this company will install is a Draw Tite and from all the other posts I read I will definitely stay away from the Hidden Hitch. Thanks for you help.
