The wife, child and I took our first trip in our 05 RX this weekend. It had about 1400 miles on it when we started. I filled up near the interstate (I-40) hear in Raleigh, reset the trip puter, and drove to Wilmington then Oak Island non stop. I used the trip puter to find its indicated 75mph which read 78 mph on the speedometer. Traffic was not heavy, being Saturday morning. When I got off I-40, the trip puter was at 24.1 When I got to Oak Island, it was 24.8 mpg.
The return trip was 23.7mpg. Traffic was much heavier with some passing on 2 lane 133. We use midgrade 89 in our RX. Old 01 RX AWD would be doing good to get 20 mpg. 05 RX is much faster passing, and more comfy ride. If it breaks in like the 01, I expect 25-26 on the road at 75mph.

If I'm going home on highways -- 64mph or so, with no wind -- I will get 24mpg at least. On the interstate @ 75mph or so I'll get 22-22.5mpg. In town is right around 18mpg. I have an AWD w/5600 miles on it.

I am sure the good gas milage is due to the fact that except for about 28 miles, I -40 is flat to Wilmington.

I'm disappointed with the milege of the 3.3L V6. In my Sienna FWD (which is nearly around the same weight and structure), the worst I've got in only city was a whopping 13MPG. The best for city was 16MPG. Right now is 15.5MPG from the computer (which I don't trust). The best was 18MPG w/ 50/50 milege and car idling for some time and going up hills.

2400 miles. Still very disappointed with milege.

Default MPG for 04 RX 330

I have 26,000 miles on my 04 RX 330. I get a consistent 17-18 mpg in city (40% of driving) and 23-24 mpg on highway (60 % of driving). I have always used 87 octane.
