Navigation Problems
While trying to use the navigation system today in my 330 a funny message came up..."unable to read data. Check if map DVD is correct." Needless to say I was unable to use it. All that seems to work is the climate controls and the clock. I called the dealer to ask where the DVD is located to try to maybe take it out and then reinstall it, but I was told it can only be gotten to by a service technician. Has anyone else had any problems like this and how was it fixed? Thanks

We have tried numerous times turning off the engine and restarting it, but the message still remains the same. I contacted the dealer and they can't get it in until September 1st. Hopefully I will be able to find my way around without it.

The owners manual tells you where its located---In the back trunk area on the right side after you lift the floor doors up! You should be able to get to the DVD unit and remove the DVD and maybe wipe it off and try it again....worth a shot

Thanks for the help on where to find the navigation. My husband had tried to find where it was located in the manual but did not have any luck. Once he found it; he removed the DVD, reinserted it and then it started working again. Hopefully we won't get this message again. If it is seems to be a constant problem then we will probably take it in for service. I knew that I could find an answer to my problem on the CL forum. All of you are really helpful. Thanks again.
