climate control question
Hi,
Last night I drove my rx330 at highway speeds for the first time in a long while. Good news -- it was a pleasure to drive under highway conditions, and my mpg went up to 21.5 mpg. Bad news -- the climate control (on auto) seemed to behave strangely. It was 40 F outside and I set temp to 71F. At first the climate control seemed OK on auto. Then I noticed it was getting cold in the cabin, and the vents were blowing cold air. I turned off the climate system and then on again, but it didn't seem to get better until I was able to turn the engine off completely. Even now it seems fickle, seems to blow either hot air or cold air. Am I missing something? Thanks for reading this.

There may be nothing wrong with your system. Your AUTO setting was 71 F., which is quite cool, esp on a day when no radiant heating is involved. On a summer day, you'd have had a gale of cold air from the vents as the system worked to keep the cabin cool, but on a cool day such as you describe, you'd still end up with a pretty cold mix for vehicle temp of 71....................
