Gas Station Fuel Pump Problems
On some occasions, when I go to fill up gas (specifically at Costco), the gas fueler clicks and pops, even though my gas tank is not full yet. Today, when I go fill up gas, it popped out at least 20 times! It first popped out at 3 gallons, then 5 gallons, then 6 gallons, then 6.5, etc. I had to keep pressing it in, holding the trigger in. And even though I held the trigger in, there's a safety feature in the gas pump where it stops fuelling, even though I held down the trigger (so basically no gas is being pumped). I had to keep doing this until I got to 16 gallons, where the gas tank is full. I talked to the gas attendant, and he told me it's either the gas pump (Costco's fuel safety feature), or there's a fuel vapor inside the gas tank. I'm not sure not to diagnose this problem. Does anyone else have this problem? I googled the problem, and other people have the same problem (at any gas station). How do I go about with this?

Could be the pump is pumping the fuel too quickly, and as it goes into the filler neck, there may be some fuel that backs up and hits the safety in the filler nozzle. When I used to experience this with my RX, I would hold the nozzle up slightly and it seemed to help with filling the tank.
You could also try filling more slowly, but that's pretty much a pain in the caboose...
If it happens at other stations, not sure what to tell you. It only happened to me occasionally.

Try other pumps?
If it happens at other pumps, then I would suggest have the breather tube tested for blockages. This breather tube runs from the tank to the near endow the gas filler hole (just short of the cap). As you pump gas the displaced air from the gas tank vents through this and escaped at a higher point than the filler nozzle. If the vent is blocked the air prevents fuel from getting into the tank.

Update: I did a lot of driving this week so gas tank ran empty faster than usual.
Went to the same Costco gas station yesterday to fill the gas tank. It did not click, and it filled gas like normal.
When I run out of gas again, I will once again give an update.
