Trail of issues
Hello, I have a 2000 RX300 with 141,000 miles and currently I feel beyond stuck in the latest problem. It started with my key fob and door switch no longer unlocking/locking all four doors but each would try to respond which led me to believe the door lock actuators were bad. Replaced all four with some ebay actuators (might have went wrong right here) and they all worked. My key fob was broken as well as the manual door lock on the drivers side so my dad opened it from the passenger side and tried to start it from there which ended in the car going into security mode and us towing it to Toyota. I got a new key fob and told them to program it and they eventually told me it needed a new ignition or something, that part I'm not sure about, but it started again and was out of security mode. Then I told them to program the door locks to the key fob and after and hour and a half he said the ECU wouldn't read the door locks? I'm not sure what to do and I would like to avoid throwing random parts at it. I'm trying to sell it so I will most likely need the key fob to work. If anyone has any ideas please let me know! Please take some time to reread your note and may be list the problems you face and in a separate describe what has been done. You have the information in your post, but it could be just me, but your post needs a bit more clarity. Other members may understand your problem better and hopefully will respond.
example:
1. [all/some] Doors lock/do_not_lock with the ANY remote part of the key or just one remote.
2. [all/some] Doors lock/do_not_lock with inside door switch
3. [all/some] Doors lock/do_not_lock with the key blade
4. Dealer has programmed the new key remote with the vehicle.
5. You have a master key and is/is-not functioning properly with the remote, key-blade.
When the vehicle is locked and armed (security light), and if the door is released from inside, you get into alarm mode. If you use your master/registered-key in ignition, the system is cleared out.
