Evap charcoal can filled with antifreeze
Thanks again for all the help keeping another RX300 rolling.
2001 RX300 - AWD -
I just did a knock sensor job along with the valve cover gaskets plus a few other sensors while I was in there playing, not fun but do able. Watch the rear valve cover gasket for rolling when installing. I got to take it all apart twice because of that.
That brings me to being pissed at having to do the job twice and not paying as close attention to the hose placements when reassembling the 2nd time.
I attached an antifreeze line to a purge line and when I started the car up antifreeze came pouring from the rear end of the car. Searching on this site and looking at my pictures I took, I was able to see where I F'd up again and sent antifreeze into the evap can.
I changed the lines back but now I wonder did I destroy the evap can under the rear end by flooding it with antifreeze?

i think you can recover functionality of the evap can if you can drain it best as possible. There is a pressure switching valve that i would be more concerned about that hopefully didnt get ruined and may trigger CELs.

I think I will buy a obd11 unit just because of this car.
My bride just told me a cel came back on.
I will pull the evap can and look it over.
Do you know how the pressure switch could get ruined? Just curious if I can revive it by drying it out?
Thank you for your input.

Another member made the same mistake. I would suggest search and if possible PM the member to get an update.
