New member with 2000 RX300 question
Thanks in advance for future help received. These forums are an invaluable resource
I just bought a 2000 RX 300 having done no prior research on the brand or model. Living dangerously.
Bought it because it was a single owner car, in unreal cosmetic condition, and has 54K miles
I know! 3600 miles/yr
Now the buyers remorse/reality check.
ABS light on and a rasping from left front wheel
The wheel sound was because of this tin pan, (arrow in attached pic.) perhaps called hub carrier, totally rotted off but caught there behind the wheel. Removed it and 'fixed' the noise but it must have had a function. Can't find that info anywhere else. Does it need replacing. Could the ABS light be related?

Get a used one. Nothing useless is put on the vehicle.
The shield helps air flow, keeps the discs clean etc.
