2003 RX300 clicking when braking
Hi all,
I recently replaced my rotors (brembo) and brake pads (toyota oem). All is good, except I'm hearing a clicking noise when I brake harder than normal. It is loud and annoying. I would like to fix it before anything worse happens. The caliper, sliding pins, etc. are all on there tight. However, I do not have any shims... I don't think I ever had any, because my old pads worked just fine and they didn't have them. Do I need shims? Will shims fix my problem? is there something I am missing?
Thanks in advance for your help!

Shims ,,, 2 plates that are at the back of the brake pads. They reduce the noise when you apply and release the brakes.
These shims clip on the pad. So If you were using OEM or OEM equivalent then the old shims just clip on the new pads.

Thanks Salim! I have shims on my GS 300, but I never had them on my RX 300. I've never had any issues with brakes with my RX either, so why do I need shims now? Will shims fix the clicking noise I'm hearing when braking? If so, I'll buy them today

UPDATE:
The noise went away by itself... I ordered OEM shims, however they do not fit the FWD model, just the AWD model. Lexus told me they only have one type of shim for the front brakes for the RX300, therefore I have determined that the FWD model does not need shims, as Lexus does not make them for it... I guess the brakes just needed to wear themselves in...
