**Rx300 Suggestion's On Shock's?**
Hello fellow lexus friends , I have a couple questions on some new shocks for the Rx I want a good quality shock that has a soft smooth ride something like a cadillac but not as floaty just more smooth then the 170k oem's i have alot of bumpy unpleasant roads on my daily commute to work and the old ones are kind of shaking me like someone mixing a flavord drink lol I'm looking at no more than maybe 110$ each you guy's help would be greatly appreciated!

while KYB gr2/excel g's are a popular replacement on these RX300's, i think they might be a tad stiff for the conditions you describe. I think they are slightly firmer than when the car was new, but they will definitely be smoother than worn out 170k oems.
You might look into getting your stockers custom revalved to your specs, maybe a company like http://www.fealsuspension.com/ could help or point you in the right direction.

Everything I read points to getting KYB's -- about $90 each online, I think. A few threads down someone mentions the Sensens which I had wondered about. $170 or so for all four, but someone reports early failure. People on this board who know more than I do suggest using genuine Lexus rubber mounts, bushings, etc. when you install the KYB's.

Just be aware that most of the comments people have are based on 'feeling' and not any measurement. The thing that makes the 'felling' more off from reality is that the compare a worn shock with new shock. [similar thing happens when they compare worn out tires with new tires].
Back to subject of shocks. The new shocks need some break in period. They are usually stiff when new and they soften a bit after 1 week or so of driving.
One more thing that we should not ignore is the tire quality and air pressure in them.
