Hella supertone horn installed
I was thinking to upgrade horn long time. I bought Hella Supertone horn model no. 3AG 003 399-801 from amazon and installed today. My old Horn still working no problem. Our RX is almost 14/15 years old and if you need to replace go for Hella. It will give you lot of attention than stock horn. Our stock horn has two unit one high at the right side by the radiator and other one driver side next to bumper. I installed both horn by the radiator left ( same old location and right side. Here is the pictures for old horn location. In the 3rd picture I cut the old plug out for make wire connection with hella horn.

Hella horn comes with one high and one low tone horn kits, 4 pin relay socket and instructions book. Follow the picture of instructions: I will go for # 2(b) wiring diagram with existing horn which horn push positively connected to existing horn. I checked the electricity of RX horn was positively push horn.
1. Removed the old horn and plug from the car wire in the piucture before. Find out a safe place to install the 4 pin hella relay ( I installed at the passenger side of the engine).
2.Connect the existing car wire with wire connector to the 4 pin relay plug no. # 86 (picture).
3. I already disconnect the driver side old plug.

I forget to mention that before you start your project must be disconnect your battery negative connection.
4. I wants to install both horn side by side at the front not in the bumper. Open the radiator top cover which attached by eight (8) push pin clip. Now you see the room for low tone in the picture circled RED. But the high tone will go for the same old locations.

You need following connectors (pictures) from radio shack. In-line Fuse holder (I used 10 amp fuse) for connection with battery positive to hella horn relay. You will see the 4 pin hella relay socket which will go by numbers: # 86 from the old horn harnesse, # 87 from the new hella both horn positive connections, #30 from positive battery and # 85 for the ground.

5. Now make connections with hella horn positive goes to 4 pin socket pin # 87 which wires of both connected by crimp clip (picture) and Both horns need individual ground which I connected with horn holder screws with car body as a ground.

Now you see the driver side new location of low tone horn installed. It will be easy to install the horn there if remove the front small fuse box which is held by two # 10 mm screws.

Now connect the all 4 pins of relay and make the ground for relay like red circled in the picture. Last picture you see both horn connected and make sure all wires are secured and cover by wire insulator. Last step install the 10 amp fuse in the battery in line fuse holder. Try the horn and enjoy.

Sorry this is an old post but I'm installing supertones now on my Lexus which also has a postive powered wire to the horns by default.
However with your post you indicate you are using diagram 2b but you have written on the paper the wires from 1a which is negative driven wire to the horns...
Just wanted to make sure you did infact use the 2b wiring which is different from what you have written down on the sheet of paper in the one picture.
Thanks,
-Nigel
