Default P0450

EVAP Emission Control System Pressure Switch Malfunction

CEL triggered this morning.

What exactly is a P0450? Does it have affect on gas mileage?

How do I fix this?

Here's a page out of the repair manual. Hopefully it helps!

Thanks for the manual, hypervish! But I'll be honest, I'm not quite an expert when it comes to this repair.

What exactly is the problem? Care to elaborate? I cleared the code for the time being. Is this something that I need fixed for emissions or regular driving orr? thanks.

You're welcome.

I don't have any personal experience with this code, so not much I can help with.

Have you ever over-filled your gas tank? If so, that may have set this code off.

Try resetting the code and see if it comes back.

Usually EVAP doesn't effect performance or fuel economy.

He already gave you instructions on how to test it. If you feel like you are unable to do it, best way is just to take it to the mechanic.
