Is Lexus still assisting with transmission failures?

That is great news...please keep us all posted as to how it runs afterwards. Sorry if I missed this earlier but did you take your '99 to Lexus exclusively for service or not?

Not necessarily, this person did a FLUSH. And, it's a well known fact that a transmission fluid flush, will usually result in transmission failure, and that's true for any car, not just the RX300. Now, I'm not saying the failure could have been avoided, but I'm sure doing a drain and fill instead of a flush would have been much more beneficial. And, it wouldn't have sent debris throughout the transmission and into the valve body.

I am happy that things got resolved to your satisfaction.
Lexus is absorbing the cost, but there is a sobering thought ,,, The choice Lexus will make is:
1) impact it s bottom line (profit)
2) pass it back to other customers.
More than likely it would be both if not entirely #2.
Lexus customers should keep this in mind when Lexus charges a premium for vehicles, parts and service.

We can debate forever whether or not the flush caused this failure. I myself have not done a flush because of the discussions here on this board. Then again my '99 doesn't have that much mileage on it.
Some may disagree, but at the end of the day I truly believe that the overwhelming majority of these cars do not have issues with the transmissions.
