Sos help
Please I need help very bad...I was trying to change the Grommet of my car and nightmare when i was fulling the head came out and fell down the rest. What should I do? Can i install the new grommet and drive the car with now problem?

I guess you mean the rubber grommet under the pcv valve, right?

what part fell and down which hole?
If it is metallic (attracted by magnet) you can get a telescoping magnet pickup tool. Dont buy too strong a magnet as it will end-up with a mind of its own and would be hard to control.

If it is the rubber grommet then a long nose plier, fine crochet needle ((used as a harpoon) can help lift the piece up. Remember to block it with something before you try to yank it out of the hole. Coat hanger wire can be used as a hook.
Do not run the engine with a loose rubber or metal part inside.
Worst come to worst, you can open up the valve cover [again it is hard to tell what you dropped and where]

it's the rubber grommet that drop in the pcv valve. I was trying to replace the grommet and pulling it with long nose...then the rubber riff and went inside. I'm deep trouble right now...dont know if I'm going to call a Tow truck to bring in the garage. Can anyone tell me how to open the pcv valve with step by step procedure and with picture if possible?

First dont panic. Get some rest.
Next dont move the vehicle.
Do I understand this right ,,,,
You disconnected the PCV hose and pulled out the pcv (the valve).
Next you tried to pull out the grommet.
The grommet ripped and
a) a portion of grommet rubber fell inside.
b) you accidentally pushed the grommet inside and whole thing fell inside.
is it a or b or both or some thing else?
This is what you do:
1. Remove the grommet [pull out] ... you want the full hole open.
2. Gravity would drop the thing straight down.
3. Use light and mirror to examine inside the hole.
4. Use duct tape to connect a straw to vacuum hose. If the suction pressure is too high cut a hole in the hose ... [I prefer using finger over the hole to increase the suction or reduce it ,,, like the fingers over a flute (except instead of blowing the vacuum sucks).
5. Use a sharp crochet needle, or a long needle to spear the rubber.
Now if you move the vehicle the fallen piece may end up traveling.
Vacuum can be used some what blindly ... like lypo-suction.
Worst is valve cover may need to be removed.

actually its a big piece that fell inside...i don't think vacuum will do the trick...but i will give a try...right now i'm making a sharp hook to fish this thing.

It happened to me exactly before. I tried many ways to get it out but failed, vacuum didnot work. Eventually with a hook (make one yourself, but need to be strong), I got it out. It's tricky, need patience but doable. Good luck.

finally!! remove it with "L" long nose, pliers and some screw drivers...what a pain for a small rubber!!! After reinstalling everything, test drive it and its good!!! Then clean the IACV and the sensor with MAF spray. I was unable to remove the 2 bronze screws. So, instead i unhook the hose that connected to it so that liquid will come-out. Wait for few minutes to dry then reinstall everything. As I start the car, i heard something "Roar" then dissapears. That's happen every time I start the car. Is that normal after cleaning the IACV?

Glad it worked out.
The vac trick is only to help bring the fallen piece close to the top and then you need to block it [use some thing to prevent it from falling down] and then some thing to grab and pull out.
For IACV, my recommendation is to gently tap a phillips head screw driver to break the bond and form the head of the screw. Next time replace them with hex head screws. If you had let things dry in IACV the roar would not have been there. But the cleaner is combustable, so it got burnt out.

thanks salim for the guide...i really appreciate a lot...that goes with other OP's members on this site....you guyz ROCKKK!!! As of right now, I don't want to touch anything...just want to enjoy my ride and rest.. see how it will go near future. Once again thank you. See you guys in the next thread
