Rear brake options
It's time to change the rear brake disc's and pads. Disc's go from $13.00-50.00 I don't need drilled or slotted. I don't need ceramic pads just low brake dust. What would you recommend?

Rears are a bit complex. Disc and drum are together as one piece. [drum works for auxiliary brake].
I would suggest, leave the drum and auxiliary brake shoes alone .. unless the shoes are worn ... very unlikely with the idiot light in the dash. Just replace the rear pads with OEM.

Yera, no need in these cars to to go Drilled/slotted, especially in the rear. I would suggest OEM rotors becuase the way the emergency brake workings seem a little tricky. As far as pads go, any type of organic generic should be just fine, no need for the creamic. In my experience, ceramic last longer but are much more noisy.

I replaced Akebono ceramic pads, front and rear, with Porterfield R4 pads and the difference in both initial bite and stopping power was amazing. I think ceramics are great if you're more concerned with how clean your wheels are than if the car stops well.
I tried at the same time to replace the rear rotors with Powerslot slotted rotors to match my fronts, but the Porterfield pads and the Powerslot rotors wouldn't work together. I don't know if the pads were too thick or the rotors were, but I had to stick with my old rotors to get the pads to fit.
