Hey Paddy Wagon,
I put all my financing information in the post. I wasn't quantifying a good deal by my monthly payment. A good deal, as I well understand, has more to do with the financed amount. At the time of the deal, I bought the RX300 for less than wholesale value. Try doing that at a Lexus Dealership.
Anyway, the RX has really low miles and I don't ever plan on selling it. This is my dream vehicle. So it made sense for me to budget it for the long haul. To me, the art of the deal has to do with what makes sense for you.
Thanks,
Handogen

I thought it was a pretty good deal... value at time of purchase (Dec 01);
Trade in/Wholesale - $27,600
Private Party Value - $29,200
Retail Value - $31,550

I am not slamming or anything but the real way to calculate how much a deal really cost you is to find the present value of the future streams of cash outlay and then net that out with the "opportunity cost" that you would have gained had you invested your cash in a , say, money market placement.
Of course, Cash is king. But in the late 90s, it was better to sink your money in the dotcoms and finance car payments. YHOO stocks paid for my previous LS (you have to know when to get out, too

Thanks.... Now I am the proud owner of 2 Lex's... PAID IN FULL. WOW it does feels good to just cut a check like that. I think I am going sell the RX soon... I think. But I might not, because I might need it for the winter... The GS sucks in the snow.... Hmm maybe I'll go with a Denali..... I don't know...
