Default CRC M.A.F cleaner

I cleaned my mass air flow meter two weeks ago, with CRC maf cleaner. It`s specifically for these sensors, leaves no film/residue behind.I went from 19.5mpg to 20.2 after doing this.I have cleaned it before with air intake cleaner, but that must leave a residue on the sensor. This egine runs very well, although I still believe it`s underpowered.Even on premium fuel,I cant believe its supposed to be 220hp.My wife`s 06 C-280 is a 3.0 liter, and that thing flies,(lots of power)and her`s is AWD 4-matic too.I drove my father in laws 07 Lincoln MKZ AWD over the weekend, and his has power to spare as well, pulls hills like their not even their etc.Basicily the same size engine,so what gives?? Am I just expecting too much from the 1MZFE motor? I am running premium fuel again (couldnt stand the power loss),k&N filter,Synthetic oil in motor and drivetrain. What else can I do? short of reprograming the ecm? Both of the cars I mentioned previously pull our hills here with ease, mine struggles on them, especially when the engine is not fully warmed up.But even when warmed up,same thing. The only other thing I can think of is the vehicle weight,I will try and see what their gvw is,I will say that my RX runs very well on the highway, very glad for that.

Well, I don't think you can compare an 06 MBZ sedan with an 01 Lexus SUV. Can't speak for the Lincoln. I have a 1999 RX300 and get anywhere from 18mpg to 22mpg, depending on circumstances. Certainly, 19.5mpg to 20.2mpg is within the range of normal variability for me, so I don't really know if the cleaner is really doing much (?)

Right, But its the power that`s concerning me.

It's subjective in the end. I remember when my RX300 was stock and I had about a week with it practically at sea level before I moved down to Mexico, and also a few times taking it up to Texas (even then stock). I have also driven a few RX300s since I got back to the US and they pretty much compare to what I remember my RX300 of yesteryear doing. Even if you change out every last fluid, you still won't see as much noticeable pop. Key thing to remember that as this vehicle gets older, it's not going to feel the same way as when it was new. Keep in mind, it's basically a slightly better version of the 1MZFE found in the Camry but you also have almost 4000 pounds with the driver in there. Still, the RX300, when it came out, had what I considered to be a fair dose of power compared to other SUVs of its era.

Exactly. 7 years is a lot of time and technology gone by. In it's heyday, the '99-'03 RX was a very fine vehicle, and still is in my opinion. I've never had issues with lack of power and neither has my wife, who happens to have a lead foot.

Keep in mind to we still have people on this forum who own the original first series LS400 and ES250. And seeing the magic my uncle has done on other vehicles back in Mexico, given the better build of our vehicles, I can see them going for a good long time. My mother and father own an 87 and 93 MB 190e 2.6 and they still keep them trucking along, and I will do no different with my RX300.

How did you do this? Is it just removing the boots that connect the air box
to the throtel body, and just spray? Did you have to wait till ii dry?

Thanks

Noypi,Your talking about the throttle intake.Actually it is not hard to do at all, just need some patience.I disconnected the sensor wiring, hose behind the air box etc. Then pop up the air cleaner disconnect the two rubber intake hoses, take out your air filter, and replace with a K&N drop in filter(just kidding, that`s optional)you should see I think it`s two bolt`s way down at the bottom of the air box, remove them, and take the air box out of the way. That is pretty well all their is to it.And,while your that far,you might as well clean your transmission speed sensor`s (very easy)
Ryan

P.S. I may have missed a few step`s,but it is all easy.
