I changed the a f sensor ..Had to remove battery to get to it....Since I changed it ,I have more power than ever ..Really a big change in power , shifts better ,runs great ....lost about 3or 4 mpg ..no body knows why....... but it really a pleasure to drive it now.....

Yeah I'm really starting to think the car itself it fine. If I put in in Drive, with Snow/ETC mode on, and let it roll off on a nice flat road it goes up to about 21 mpg. I got about 14 mpg on the first day after I last filled up, which was slightly less congested than usual and I had some nice stretches of cruising. It's also ridiculously cold and slippery and I only have all-year tires (deep threading but no dobs or spikes).

I'm gonna wait and see how it goes in the summer when I'll be doing a bit longer drives with (hopefully) less traffic.

192,000 Miles - getting 16 mpg and have always maint. vehicle like a baby and these have been performed on a reg basis. Have not cleaned the MAF in awhile, can't remember. Bought what's needed to do so and will soon.

Here a little history. Not all inclusive but I stay on top of ALL fluids and like everything to be clean at ALL times.

Many thanks to everyone who has helped me keep this 01 Rx300 AWD like new and save me money while doing so and I am no mechanic. LOL

- New rotors/pads front/rear @ 144k
- relaced IAC valve and cleaned throttle body at 82k
- rear differencial fluid & transfer case
- semi synthetic Castrol GTX
- New Iridian Tip plugs @ 115,288
-replaced AF sensor ( denso # 234-9009) at 129k
- timing & AC compressor belts/water pump/replaced idlers 1&2, replaced cam & crank seals and TOYO coolant and water wetter wetter at 178 k
-New Interstate Battery 2011
-Michellin LTX MS2 & wheel alignment in December 2011 & 186,971
-K&N properly oiled

Hi just wanted to confirm if your mileage improved after changing the A/F Sensor?

I'm thinking of changing one of mine as I have had a CEL pointing towards the passenger side one, not the front one.

My mileage is about 14-15 MPG where 3 years ago it was 20-21 MPG.

Thanks

I'm getting 14-15 in the city with premium fuel. I'm going to put in a KN and see if that helps.

I have the same fuel mpg as you. let me know if anything improves.

Question: How much difference do spark plugs make in gas mileage?

Put in KN and didn't notice a change. Even at 70-75 on the highway, I'm not getting over 20. Time to do the MAF.

I think I need to do plugs too but it seems the rear plugs are a pain.

I just cleaned the MAF today and so far noticed a HUGE change in mileage. I was averaging in the 16's and now I'm almost at 19 in the city.

Wow! I cleaned my MAF sensor the other day and still no luck. Still averaging around 14-16 mpg.

The rear plugs are not that bad. Sure it is no walk in the park . But the job is in no means a royal pain in ......
