Default antenna connection on 300? anyone pull their stereo?

I have a new sirius radio that I love. I am looking to install a little cleaner and want to hardwire inline with the fm antenna. Does anyone know if the rx300 (y 2000) uses std motorola plugs for the antenna and.. how do I get to the back of the unit?

I want to install one of these..

Default Radio Removal

On my 1999 with Nakamichi, the antenna connection is standard Motorola. I pulled mine last night; let me know if you need any guidance. Not difficult, but takes patience.

Default Interested as well

I'd be interested in knowing the steps to do this as well. If you could give detailed directions from trim removal to radio removal to completion that would be great.

Thanks

Default Radio Removal

The only challenging part is getting the initial trim piece off, the U shaped piece that surrounds the radio and a/c console. Start on one side, at the top, with a small screwdriver and gently pry up until you can insert something to preserve that gap. Then gently work your way down, across, and up the other side. The clips that hold the trim in place will release without too much force. Once that trim is removed, the bolts that hold the console in place will be readily visible. Then, with the bolts removed, release the various electrical connections; the only one that proved difficult for me was the cigarette lighter.

Happy to comment further if this is not sufficient.

Default Significant improvement??

Thanks for the help. Have you noted a significant change in the sound quality using the FM modulator relay (hard-wiring)? I am pretty happy with the sound quality without this so far other than most of my listening is with the volume at the 12 o'clock position (normally never would have listened to radio at that volume).
