Default Airbag Warranty Coverage

Hello Everyone,
Does anyone know what is warranty coverage on Airbag?

My airbag light keeps flashing, I took it to the dealer twice, and they just reset it every time by disconnecting the battery. It comes back in 2-3k miles.

Thanks much.

Well.that light should only flash if their is a problem,I don`t know why they are taking the easy way out,and not accomplishing anything.I would get a little stern re; this.

Dealership said they couldn't read any code from it, so all they did was to reset it. One time the tech said the kleenex box was under the seat that may have triggerred it, very poor execuse. I told the guy, if it was that serious, why don't they protect the under seat space. If it was really kleenex box under the seat, I think that is a recall. I brought the car in for the airbag actually 3 times in 2006. It has been flashing for almost two years now, I feel very unsafe if something happens, car has only 50k miles.

The same goes for the rear brake clunking noise, they knew the problem but would not fix it until the third time I brought the car in.

It seems the dealership you go to is incompetent .. try another dealership. If that is not possible then talk to service manager.

Lexus warranty has time and milage limitation.

As far as I know, and I just wanted to confirm, Airbag is part of powertrain warranty and it is 72months/70kmiles, and my vehicle does not pass neither 72months nor 70k miles yet.

I thought Lexus had 60k bumper to bumper and 70k for emission-drivetrain and underbody. The engine due to gel issue was covered to 100k (proof of maintenance was required).

Depends on the country and the year. In the US, for current vehicles, it is 4 year/50,000 mile bumper to bumper, 6 year/72,000 mile powertrain (8 years/no mileage limit on gelling).

I just bought a 2020 Lexus Rx 350. Do you know if it is still covered if I am the 2nd owner. My car only has 8,000 miles.

I don't know about recent year warranty policy. My 2000 RX300 warranty booklet says "Warranty coverage is fully transferable at no cost to subsequent vehicle owners". I assume and hope Lexus keeps the same policy.

Base warranty [based on miles and age] transfers to the new owner without any change in coverage. It has very little to do with model/yr .. it is based on Date-in-service [the time when ownership is assigned to the first purchaser]. Also information on the net is strictly information [which can be correct or wrong]. Lexus dealership ore Lexus corporation should be deemed reliable.
