Need tires for the first time, as owner. The stock 225x70x16 seems unique to this vehicle? What are alternate sizes, if any. And, and downside to such changes. I was interested in going to a 60 or 65 width. Seems as though the shopping options are more numerous.

There are many different tire sizes and what rims can you put on the rx threads going around. Use the search button for the forum and just type tires and you will find everything you are looking for.

Use a size calculator that allows you to change to a different size from stock and tells you the actual difference. If you want to go down in sidewall % and a little wider, you could actually stay at the overall same diameter tire.

I had to do this for my wife's Mustang since the stock size was so unique.
