Default Car Audio

I am getting an amp/subwoofer in a box installed next weekend. Has anyone had experience installing car audio? I'm going to a really reputable place, so I do trust them. Anything to watch out for?

Sometimes the subs and amps cost less if u were to buy it online instead of directly from the shop. Negotiate the installation price a little to get a good deal. I got ripped off by a shop who sold an amp for 200 when i showed him the price of the amp and originally it was 100 free shipping.

I have a small amp and sub (just to sound a little better) already. He's only charging me $125 to install it I figured that is pretty good for a reputable place.

I would like to get a little more out of my system. How big is the box?

So.... What did you end up installing, and how do you like it?

If it's a ported box, have them build one to specs. There's a good chance the pre-fab box won't be tuned correctly and/or poorly made.

A sealed box is a lot less complex so as long as it's the right size, it should be sufficient.

Edit: Old thread. I'm probably too late.
