Default Lexus RC F and BMW M4 Go Head to Head Down Under

The latest King of Bavaria, the BMW M4, finally has to go toe to toe with the angry V8 hiding under the nose of the swoopy new Lexus RC F.

All good...I went with the RC F carbon TVD...ultrasonic blue mica.

The 363:2 rule works for me (road:track).

It's a shut case for me and easy to understand the ruling.

M4 for its motorsport DNA, lighter weight, turbo torque and much more raw driving character. reliability and durability in question. designed for the 1st owner. more common sighting on the roads. has heritage.

RCF for its spaceship looks, iron horse engine, and super fly interior. quieter and relaxed road manners. the GT coupe for those who don't want the boy racer image.

can't fault someone for going with one or the other. celebrate instead!

I agree with everything except the "motorsports DNA". That is more of the legacy.

The M4 engine is basically useless so far since BMW continues to use the older N/A V8 engine based on the old M3 engine in the Z4 GT3 endurance racing car. There are no official plans so far of using the M4 engine in any racing car.

The RC-F on the other hand, has its engine being used in the RC-F GT3 (heavily modified, of course) where it makes more than 100 HP/Liter and revs to over 8000 rpm.

Is the DTM using a NA V8 or forced induction 6?

Good question. I stand corrected - it's an 8.
