Default Message From Dealer

When I start my car, the Navigation screen just started to tell me about service due and to call this certain dealer. However, it is not the dealer that is closest to me but where my dealer got the car from. Is there a way to change it to my local dealer or does my local dealer have to do it. Thanks in advance.

You can take the car anywhere. The reason why your car is setup that way is because Toyota/Lexus believe if you take your car back to the service dept of the dealership you bought from, you are more likely you will buy from again if you do your servicing there. It is a retention scoring model that is pretty accurate, hence the reason they started offering free service for the first couple years of ownership. I am a Finance Manager at a Toyota store and we follow this report and track it on a monthly basis.

I think you have my issue backwards...I bought the car from my dealership that is right next to me. However, they got the car to sell me from another dealership that is an hour away. That is the one coming up sending messages on the nav screen and I want to change it to where I bought it locally .

you can change it in the nav settings, I had to do the same thing..

let me look it up, it's been over a year since I did it.

found it, it is in the maintenance menu, use the set dealer option.

I'm sure your servicing dealer will be MORE THAN HAPPY to make the change for you.
