Default Front Window Sun Shade?

Anyone bought one they'd recommend?

I bought the custom fit one for the RC F from the dealer. It's like a roll. Fits pretty good. Intro-tech is the manufacturer. Storage is not as easy because you have to roll vs folding. $30

Just get the 3m Crystalline 80% (?) almost clear tint that blocks out heat and you can still see out (for the windshield) ? And get darker 3M Crystalline for the remaining windiws. I have this on my RC-F and LX570. I have Solar Gard ceramic 80% (?) almost clear tints for the windshields CT200H, RX450H , MB SLK55AMG.

Works well and cuts down thd heat well. Also cuts down the glare both day and night. The 3M Crystalline is better, but costs more.

I liked the custom fit cover craft fold-up sunshade I had for another car. Thinking of grabbing one of those for my RC F. Right now I have a different brand from a highlander hybrid (which was free from family member) that is a little too big but does the trick.

+1 on the Crystalline for the front windshield, mine is 70%. I had it on my '13 GS350 F-Sport as well and it's pretty amazing. Looks clear, keeps the interior cooler and reduces glare. I also have 20% Solargard on the side and rear windows.

I ordered this for my GS and it fit great. Pictured in the ad is an RCF. Only $35 and folds away nicely.

I would also highly recommend the CoverCraft ones, but they tend to be harder to store and a bit pricey.

One time on a long drive outing with a friend's family. They were in an RX with some really darkly tinted windows (don't know what kind/brand) while we were in our LX570 with 3M Crystalline all around and no where as "dark" as on the RX. We stopped in Barstow on our way to Vegas for lunch. There are no trees or shade to park next to the restaurant. I did not put up any windshield shade since I already had 3M crystalline on the windshield. The RX has a foil type windshield blocker put on. After about an hour and half we returned to our vehicles. It was burning hot to the point you can not touch the wooden steering wheel on the RX. While the LX570 with 3M crystalline was still reasonably cool and I can touch the wooden steering wheel without getting burned. It was literally night and day difference.

Crystalline is the way to go but its expensive stuff. Regardless over time, I mean if your car is sitting out for more than a few hours it will still get hot inside. Probably using a combo of a sunshade and the tint will yield the best results. Don't forget, sun/ uv damage is one of the biggest factors for interior and exterior trims degradation over time. Its so surprising that so many people don't realize or care about this enough..

A Crystallined windshield will not only keep you car cooler while it's parked, but when your driving, especially in ECO mode. A/C in RCF's really seem to be underpowered overall

Yes, on long drives I find the need to adjust the AC so it won't get too cold inside even if it is 100+ F outside.

3M Crystalline advertises that it has 200 layers? I don't know how it works, but it works. Most shops has a display with a heat lamps behind various types of tints. The 3M Crystalline and some other makes if "ceramic tints" tend to block heat best. Leave the heat lamps on for a good several minutes all will get so hot to the point it will burn your hand if you touch it, EXCEPT for the 3M Crystalline and the "ceramic tints". IDK if this is some marketing tricks they use, but it is all in front of me for the test and yes, definitely there is a difference in heat rejection/blocking.

+5 on the tint....

I've got 60% Winco's Ceramic on the windshield and it's awesome. Keeps the car so much cooler and the dash won't melt....
