Hey, CL Members
How are you, guys/gals? Just giving you a heads up that I had my Navigation/GPS System reset this morning. I was the 3rd car in line @630am, it still took 2+ hours to get my RCF back and drove off at around 9am. I had my service done @Longo Lexus in El Monte, California. Thank you very much for wasting my time, Lexus. Please shoot the dumbass who "Fu##ed Up" the programming system. The employees were telling me they had over 900 vehicles coming in yesterday to fix the issue. Lots of unhappy Lexus Drivers and the surrounding dealerships in Southern California were sending everyone to Longo Lexus. I tried asking for a free oil change but no luck.
Regards,
Akiho (Bruce)

Thanks for the update Bruce. I will go to Keyes in Van Nuys this Saturday and see if they can give me a free oil change!

I too was affected, just drove up to their service line along with 10+ other Lexus vehicles.
Took them no more than 30 mins to reset the vehicle. All you had to do was sign their form and they inform you that a receipt will be sent in the mail.
Very awesome how they responded and fixed everything so fast.

Just found this via Google, dated June 7, 2016:
"Starting today, and continuing for the next month, the FAA has warned airplane pilots that GPS signals on on the West Coast, and especially over California and Nevada, may be impacted.
The reason why is not exactly clear, but as Gizmodo notes, the US military will be testing a device or devices that will potentially jam GPS signals for six hours each day. Officially the tests were announced by the FAA but are centered near the US Navy’s largest installation in the Mojave Desert, China Lake, located "just down the road" from Area 51. The Navy has kept silent about the nature of the tests."

Got this e-mail from Lexus.
You may or may not have recently experienced difficulties related to the navigation display in your Lexus. We apologize for any inconvenience.
Errant data broadcast by our traffic and weather data service provider was not handled as expected by the microcomputer in the vehicle navigation head unit (center display) of 2014-16 Model Year Lexus vehicles.
In some situations, this issue can cause the head unit to restart repeatedly, affecting operation of the navigation system, audio and climate control features, and the hands-free mobile phone functions. The data suspected to be the source of the error was corrected Tuesday, June 7, at 11:00 pm PST.
The correction is a forced reset and clearing of the errant data from the system.
Lexus owners experiencing these issues should visit their dealer for a complimentary system reset and a confirmation of the system. Until then, owners of affected vehicles should exercise additional caution when driving. We regret any inconvenience you may have experienced.
If you have further questions, please visit our FAQ site at http://lexus.us/1Xb4cMz or contact our Lexus Customer Satisfaction Department at 1-800-255-3987, Monday through Friday, 5:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., or Saturday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Pacific Time.

resetting screen panel
5-15-2017
I own a LS460 and my car just started resetting all the info on the dash and the GPS screen every few seconds too. I tried disconnecting the positive of the battery for an hour and reconnecting. It didn't seem to make any difference. I have an appointment with Lexus tomorrow and they said they will charge $200/hr. to diagnose. it could take about 3 hours. From then any parts needed. OUCH!!!
