Default I need your thoughts here

Do you guys think the slow sale of RCF will make our car worth much less down the road? Do you think we are the guinea pigs of what Lexus will bring to the market next? I mean, will the next RCF or F products be light years better than our RCF and make ours look like the first-gen experimental cars that have no collector value since the current sales are super slow?

And, does this less than ideal sale make you ever regret getting RCF? I like to hear your opinions.

It's possible it might be the complete opposite.

I know people like me, in a few years will be swarming for RC-F's or RC chassis cars in general. Ask me if I could afford a RC-F now, no way. Does that mean I still want one? HELL YEAH! So I'll give it a few years, and I have a good feeling they're still gonna be up there in pricing.

I don't think slow sale is going to risk the resale too bad compared to what already happens with most lexus's in the first place. I think it's going to have an IS-F type resale, with maybe slightly less of a market due to sedan vs coupe.

Guinea pigs, no - The ISF took care of that. Just look at the values of the ISF to see what the future holds for the RCF.

ehh RC-F is going to be interesting. Hopefully Lexus is curtailing the production #s to prevent what they had on the 15s. I think resale value will be extremely hurt with the First year situation. However as long they control the production #s the RCF will get its groove back. Again hopefully they have enough demand with their future units

My 2012 IS F with 18,000 miles was purchased for around $67,000. It sold it in March of 2015 for over $50,000.

Cars are generally terrible investments, but I would expect an excellent value for what is one of the last and best remaining V8s in the class.

I believe the 2015 will be a collector car for many reasons:

- First year for a new Lexus model.
- F model increases exclusivity/appeal.
- Likely last gen with a naturally aspirated V8 "thanks" to the upcoming higher mpg 2025 CAFE standards.
- It's a Lexus. Brand and reliability will be highly regarded for many years to come.

1st year is ugly but I don't think it's going to drop much more in the next 2-3. You will not see an RCF for 40-45k too much demand to keep the price above that. I think if you got in in 2015 like I did and sell now and take the 20k hit you did it wrong, you could wait 2-3 more years enjoy the car and may lose 10k more max I would say.

corradoMR2 has some good points. IMO, future prices will come down to supply/demand and I believe the supply of new RCFs are will be less going forward. I try not to worry and just take my returns by driving/enjoying the car.

Between now and the end of the year I think the trade-in values will stay close to the 50,000 mark.

Thats what I hope. But reality is somewhat different.

I checked KBB values in the past month and also edmunds.

Values have dropped. Edmunds is pegging 48-52k for a trade in to dealer with the most popular config F s (Premium Mark levinson moonroof) with 5K miles.

KBB was $54-57k now down to 50-54k for the same miles.

A good way to tell, is to access Mananheim data on recent lots. But without a dealership or a connect hard to come by (although some say Consumer reports service pulls that data as well on their used car value).

Prices be dropping either due to new transactional data for new purchases or else but they are dropping.
