Default Review of RC F Carbon Edition

Looks like they are working on the weight issue for the RC F

Even if the RC F gets to 3700 or 3800, it would make a world of difference and it would be one of the leaders in the pack.

I can see it now - 2016 or 2017 RC-F sheds 250 - 300 lbs. 2015 RC-F owners left in the dust...

I would bet 2017 or 18. 16 will probably be new colors and maybe standard tribeams. I would be surprised and kinda frustrated if that made that significant of change in one year.

You and me both. On the optimistic side, many performance upgrades should come online or become available over the next few years. I wonder if it will ever be possible to access the ECU for a custom tune on the car.

My bet is no weight change in the RC F.

Yaguchi from the beginning said there is another car in the works for those who actually track it alot. If you want the "race car," you'll most likely need to buy the RCF-S for around $120,000 (another $30,000 over the near $90,000 for the RCF carbon TVD loaded).

Yaguchi already stated it was a compromise between luxury and performance. There's a lot of stuff in the RCF, and frankly, I like it. The car is not heavy IMO. It's planted at high speed and instills a lot of confidence.

0-175 mph in around 40 seconds gets me to the office with plenty of time to spare.

I dont think losing a bit of weight would make it more of track car. Lexus knows they can do it pretty easily. They will come out with a black series competitor. They just need to make the back seat a bit bigger and a little less weight. This would be the top of its class.

I love my RC F but it is not fautless. I always kick the parking brake when i get in... ahhh!

So far it's an awesome car, and the nice part about it is there are a lot of possibilities going forward, aftermarket, mods, what-have-you. It's probably the most luxury and performance I can reasonably buy without threats of divorce. I'm pretty happy with it at this point. I just got the PTS JoeZ exhaust system and looking to get that installed this weekend, so that should be a good start to some performance bolt-ons.

I'll do that for sure. I bailed out of installing it myself because 1. its too freakin hot and humid here in North Alabama right now, 2. I have to put the car on jackstands to do it, and I can't get my floor jack under the front diffuser. 3. A guy who has a custom exhaust shop here said he can do it for me for about $100, and 4. Maybe i'm getting too old to crawl around on the garage floor all day when I could be enjoying myself in some air-conditioned place doing something fun. Other than that, it would be done already
