You might be right.
The area in question is on the edge of the curve of the hood above the shock towers on both sides.
there are cuts in the paint about 2 - 3mm long and about .25 -.5mm wide. Only clear coat deep.
I even thought someone manually applying the sheet with brass knuckles on or at least some heavy duty rings
Well, now that its fixed, I'm going to just enjoy it

Ah, so the damage occurred prior to any dealership handiwork! That's a bummer, unfortunately little that can be done about it? I guess it's more practice for you for paint correction

From the pic you posted, it looks like a straightforward peel off, but to your point, I wouldn't put it past them.
Maybe I'm jaded, but I don't really expect perfection anymore, especially if the car has a few miles and has been test driven. When I had bought my ISF, it already had some visible swirls and nicks on it. Nothing drastic but obviously not as new as can be.

I am still curios what's the deal on the self restoring clear coat?
Its even in the owners manual, under care and maintenance, first page.
...but it is not working in any capacity.
I've had a car with the self restoring paint and I was expecting this rc f to have the same modicum of capability.
I'm not expecting terminator stile liquid metal resculpting itself to perfection after a head on collision.
I was expecting whips light marks to soften and melt together to reduce the appearance of the aberration.
The grr had self restoring paint. Worked when warm, such as in the sun and could be coaxed with a hair drier or warm water. The nick in the clear could be massaged or smudged with a gentle microfiber soaked with hot water. about a day later it had melted together. Do it again and the slight light reflection deformation would disappear the rest of the way. That's what I was kinda expecting from this self restoring paint / clear coat .
