Default Oil gauge reading

Hi all. Just wondering if it takes a few minutes for the oil temp to show on your instrument display. I notice mine does but not sure if it always does that. LOL. Thanks!

I'm assuming you are talking about an RCF, as I don't see that on mine unless it is something that is programmed in to display.

My bad. It's the gauge with the bar that shows the oil temp on the top left ... C------------------H

That's the coolant temperature indicator. It's on page 91 of the owner's manual.

So does it take a couple minutes to go halfway after turning on the car?

It should as it is an indicator of the coolant temperature, and when not running it should indicate "C", and when at operating temp should be about half way.

PHEW! I noticed that it took a few minutes to reach the middle point and thought there was something wrong. For some reason I thought that it always started in the middle. Thanks!

No problem. It does takes a few minutes for the engine to warm up so not to worry. Now if it never gets to the middle, then either there is something wrong or you live in a really cold place.
