OEM Spoiler
Hi all,
I was interested in purchasing a spoiler for the RC since it didn't come with it from factory. I'm a little disappointed that there were no instructions/template that came wth the spoiler, especially since I paid almost 400 for it. Has anyone else had this issue? I believe there's a template available to purchase, but just thought it was ridiculous that it didn't come included. The shop I called said they couldn't guarantee a perfect alignment without the template. Sounds like bs to me so just wanted to hear your thoughts. Thank you!

Usually these templates are purchased separately. It runs around $20-30. Instructions should be included with the template. Template is required though, so that the shop can drill the holes properly and align the spoiler to sit correctly. You don't want multiple holes or a crooked spoiler!
Check Sewell Lexus because you can get discount for being a ClubLexus member. I don't think they have a template posted on the website, but maybe call them to see if they have it.

It needs holes drilled. The template and instructions are sold separately. Because of this, I decided to return the spoiler back to Lexus. I'll decide if I want to reorder from Sewell in the future once the template and instructions are available on the site. Everything is so much cheaper from Sewell even with the shipping charges to Hawaii.
That carbon fiber spoiler from TRD also looks really good though

My salesman found my RC, configured with the options I was looking for, at another dealership and they swapped cars. At some point, before the deal was done, the other dealership installed the spoiler on it. I didn't even know that a spoiler was an option. I paid for it, of course, and in my opinion the spoiler is a very, very nice touch, especially in infrared.

BTW tfischer what does the First edition mean in your sig? Like when you bought it or simply stating it was the first batch of cars produced?

"First Edition" is a publishing expression not generally used in the automotive world. The First Edition of a classic book is more valuable than a second or subsequent printing. With cars, of course, just the opposite is true, in most cases.
