Looking to change my muffler (again) to something with more tone but little or no drone. I had the Magnaflow Universal Muffler Axle Back installed (custom build, only $250) and although the I had great tone at startup, the drone at 2000-3000 rpm was bad, and the IS250 likes to cruise at 2000 rpm.

I am just looking for axle back due to CA emission laws. I was hoping and thinking that if I went with a better build muffler like Invidia Q300 I'd get less drone. I think the Magnaflow Universal is poor quality and probably lead to more drone.

Thoughts or recommendations?

I dont think many people have the exhaust here. Tanabe seems to be very popular though and folks say that there is little drone and pretty quiet. Look around youtube and see if you can find it there and maybe message the video's poster.

I have the Invidia axle back... its pretty quiet, but you get some good sounds out of it, even at redline.
I deleted my secondary cats for added loudness, and plan to delete my primary cats in the very near future (needs o2 simulators). We don't really have (enforced) regulations here though :P
