Default Best bang for buck set up?

Ebay piping + f sport lower intake box + k&n filter?

I know I will not notice a difference in regard to rwhp, but just want the sound... hence the cost effective set up.

Considering a DIY f sport lower box intake (cutting a hole) as well.

Any ideas what to look for when ordering ebay piping to ensure it works?

If you just want the sound cut the stock lower box and call it a day.

Will adding Joe Z pipe or F Sport Pipe only (without cutting the lower intake box or filter) make the good sound?

Cheap way works but you end up gutting your bottom half of the intake box. I used to own an INJEN SP intake and that intake is far the loudest I had. Currently, I have the F-Sport due to CARB Legal reasons and I must say it is the best intake mod so far with moderate sound and better overall quality. The JoeZ is good minus the intake sound and CARB sticker for the best HP Gain for the buck.

It will make it a slightly deeper tone. I originally just installed the Joe Z pipe and a K&N filter, and it did sound different. It's so mild though that anyone else probably wouldn't notice. I eventually just added the F-Sport lower box because it didn't take long before I couldn't really hear any difference either.

For bang-for-buck horsepower gains, the JoeZ intake pipe is the way to go (cutting the lower stock box is also a great cheap way to get a deeper sound).

For bang-for-buck handling gains, get yourself a rear F-Sport sway bar. It makes a noticable difference for such a simple mod.

I bought mine years ago from Sewell Lexus. Register using your clublexus email and you'll get even more of a discount.

If it just for sound then cut the hole in the box. If you want some power dont cut the hole and get the pipe and filter or you can get an Ultimate Performance True CAI. for about the same if you went with your original plan.
